Worst owners ever.

Even Brown wouldn't have taken the piss out of us this much!

Carol will be fit just in time for them to say,'he is just like a new signing', only for him to suffer a long term injury as soon as the window closes.

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.

I wouldn't be too sad if they exclusively went down the same avenues as Obiang, Cresswell, Antonio, Byram, Arthur, Fernandes, Kouyate etc etc.

Good young players, plenty of risk invloved of course but a good strategy in the long term to move us on.

Of course I'd love a proven 15-20 goal a season striker, but in reality it'd be good to have young hungry talent with the ability to stay fit for more than 10 games in a row!

We would never have signed Benteke while Carroll was still at the club

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
We were allegedly wanting to sign Hart on loan until City and himself made it clear they want a permanent deal so now we are looking at cheaper options.
Why would a supposedly ambitious club want a keeper on loan? Short term ism again in a vital position.
Same with Batshui.
For every Lanzini there must be 10 loan deals that have not worked out and been detrimental to our season. At some point the owners will have to bite the bullet and pay up to sign the players needed.
Yes other avenues like Cresswell, Antonio and Obiang have payed off and are worth persisting with but to get that extra bit of quality needed in vital areas the general rule is they cost money.

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
If you look at the sea change in transfer approach since Zaza etc we probably would be trying to sign him now .

RM10 2:50 Sun Jun 25
Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
we were gonna spend £25m on zaza, buying Benteke was a no brainer at the time, he will always score and 15 for us last season would have seen us into 8th for sure.

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
He had a good second half of the season but a few months into it most on here were saying we'd avoided making a mistake by signing him.

Just my opinion but anyone can be a great manager in hindsight.

13 Brentford Rd 2:41 Sun Jun 25
Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
He scored what 14 or 15 goals last season for Palace, more than all our CF put together, so he did more than okay.
Billic himself highlighted why he thought Zaza struggled, saying the deal where he had only 15 games to prove himself put too much pressure on him when he needed time to settle and adjust.
And there we have a perfect example of why sometimes it's better to identify your target, have faith and sign them permanently.

Pagey 2:29 Sun Jun 25
Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
Everyone is a brilliant manager in hindsight on here!

Benteke had an okay season for a Palace but he never looked the same player that he did at Villa and Zaza appeared to be a decent signing on paper but it just never worked out. Loads of our fans didn't want Benteke. Suddenly he does okay at Palace and we should have signed him!

The owners do need to produce this summer and bring in quality but let's not change history. We've already got one Benteke type player in Carroll and Zaza should have shown a lot more. Why he didn't is another matter.

we are badly managed that is true.

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
Exactly Alf.
It is the owners who have raised expectations and if we were going to carry on being a mid -lower table team flirting with relegation every few years then we could have done that at al The Boleyn and there would be no raised expectations.
The genie is out of the bottle now so no more excuses, time to deliver.

In fact decent owners would have achieved more than the SPIVS ever will even by staying at The Boleyn.
Look at what well run clubs like Southampton and Leicester can achieve with a 30k stadium.
Truth is the owners are fucking clueless and WHU are now MASSIVELY underachieving

Sir Alf 12:56 Sun Jun 25
Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
Its not about the money in isolation. Its the promises, the false expectations that were set to make us all move to the new stadium, that was less than ideal, without too much resistance which has made them much richer. The deal was that they ,the owners , would give us a team to be proud of in return. One that was at least top half most seasons. If I stand back for a moment I can see its only the second season so the transfer business is key this summer and all eyes are watching the 2Bobs. Early noises are far from encouraging with the club or should I say Sullivan still thinking he can do deals in what is clearly a sellers market.

At this stage, with the squad we have, and no significant quality coming in up front and in midfield we will have only one challenge next season and that is survival again. Bilic has not shown much nous tactically so he ain't gonna make a "silk purse from a pigs ear" like say a Sean Dyche and a couple of injuries to key players will see us in a relegation struggle. We are one of the slowest midfields in the league for example.

Fvcking give us a decent team you charlatans!!

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
We finished 17th with Zola the season before we went down and had a great escape. It's not like we hadn't flirted. I do blame G&S for the relegation though. Appointing that silly fat wanker from Portsmouth was always going to be a disaster, as were his shitty transfers.

People moan about the money we spend as if we are trying to do stuff on the cheap, when that is clearly not the case. As I said we spent more last season than the the previous one finishing 7th. I'm not sure how the club got it so wrong last season, especially after getting it so right the season before, but with Tony Henry we have made a few shrewd signings that aren't big profile players with top dollar tags. In fact I think we should steer clear of spending big like that as we are more likely to end up with the likes of Zaza and Tore, when we have been far more successful in bringing in players like Obiang Cresswell Antonio Masuaku Byram and Lanzini without all the hype.

Re: Fuck off Sullivan, Gold and Brady.
Relegation was not necessarily "on the cards" Was it.
I am concerned at the lack of direction and ambition considering the promises made about the move.
I don't care too much about the finer detail of our finances but basic maths, and a quick reference to our signings over their tenure tells an obvious story.
They may not be making a profit now but they will make a lot of money when they sell.

Are you now trying to suggest they loan the club the transfer budget? Hahaha.

They converted bank loans to share holder loans. Chelsea owe Abramovich over 1 billion in loans, albeit interest free.

The reason we still have a similar figure of debt is largely due to our last relegation, which was on the cards for a while before they took over, and also a large portion of debt being transfer installments owed to clubs. So unless they actually operated solely for financial profit like some claim, the debt can't get fully cleared.

I don't think you have even the foggiest idea about what you're moaning about.

Plenty of decent wealthy non Arab owners out there but with our luck no chance.
